How ya'll is? Welcome to the first issue of SSM of the new year! I hope Santa brought everything ya'll begged, I mean ASKED, for! Now for the nuggets of wisdom, ideas, thoughts and anything else that rattles around in my head like the marble in the bottom of a can of spray paint. I know all of us realize that it is time to make our New Year's RESOLUTIONS. I know, I know.... I wanted to go out to Reso myself, but I couldn't...and a lot of us were in the same boat, but these aren't the resolutions that I'm talking about. I'm talking about the resolutions that we all make every year. Ya'll know the ones I'm talking about too...I'm gonna quit smoking, I'm gonna quit drinking so much, I'm gonna lose weight (which I have done...15lbs so far, hooray for me!), I'm gonna start on my truck. Wait a minute, why the hell would anyone wait this long to start working on their truck you ask? All I can say is.... CHRISTMAS AIN'T CHEAP BUDDY!! The best thing to do in this situation is to start off with a well defined plan of attack. Getting off on the right foot is important, knowing what you want to do and the order you want to get it done in, this can be one of your most valuable tools. Start off with the mods that are most important to you. If you think that chopping, shaving and molding are more important than adjustable suspension, wheel/tire combo and a big ass stereo, then commence to shaving! Maybe you'd rather start off with the interior then move outward...there's no WRONG way to build YOUR truck.

Another good idea is to set a budget for each area of your buildup. This is a good idea in that it can keep your head above water (i.e. keeps credit card people from calling you at all hours of the day and night). Determining what you can and cannot do yourself can save you a ton of money! When it comes to your suspension, nothing beats being able to adjust your ride height on the fly, but this is an area where safety is of the UTMOST importance! If you have the skills to do the fabrication work on your ride, do it to save your money for the other areas that you are less than knowledgeable in, but if you have the SLIGHTEST DOUBT in your abilities, DON'T RISK IT! Saving a few bucks now could cost you your truck, or even your life. Well ya'll, hope you have a HELLUVA time for New Years, and please, if you drink, don't drive! A designated driver can save lives, maybe YOURS! Until next month, keep your wheels spinnin' and the beavers grinnin'! Jeff MillerExplicit Concepts, TexasExplicitConcepts.com -- THE REAL EC
