First off I would like to welcome everyone in the custom automotive world to the year 2002!! Isn't it weird that when we were young lads (okay well probably before most of you were born because I'm old) that in every movie or show having to do with the future they always put like "Year 2002" and would have rides flying around. Is this odd to anyone else that they predicted technology to be so advanced yet we are so far from it, or I'm I loosing everyone with my deranged thoughts once again? Although I do have to admit there are some new body styled rides coming our way that are starting to get the more technology flying above ground look to them. So what is our scene going to look like when these rides come about in our great nation? Is the use of Air cylinders preparing us for the future? You know, reverse the flow and suck the wheel into the wheel well. So while rides are flying around, the car that tucks the most wheel will be the coolest ride? Maybe have a flint strip or two in the wheel well so when you suck the wheels up you can throw sparks, that'd be cool. But yet the manufactures who make their rides kind of like in Back to the future 2 where the wheels fold under wouldn't be found in our scene because you wouldn't be able to show your low. Or yet would that vehicle be the coolest because you could maybe do…. Road grinds? In most "Futuristic" movies the rides don't have door handles and pop by remote. In these ways we have began the future of the every day family car. So with no handles to shave would the cool thing be to mold in some door handles off of a ride from the prehistoric '90's? Would we even have a gas tank that would possibly be relocated, shortened or narrowed? What about the gas filler door? For years our custom world has been paving the way for the future of the every day cool vehicle. With our rides complete with the smoothed sided, fully remote functional, clean looking vision, we are starting to be noticed as the trend for even the every day normal family ride. Hell Honda has recognized this for years on how popular their rides have been for the import world and continue to make things easily customized with smoother lines keeping the interest of their fans. Now other manufactures are getting the point and following the trends.

So what does 2002 have in store for us? Well only the following 12 months can truly tell. But rest assure that the manufactures of the very rides we customize will continue to keep an eye on our ideas, our visions and with our efforts will be able to better there current line of vehicles moving there way to the future of the Techno family vehicle.Garrick ArendsEditor
