Lakefront Tour '00
Once again Midnight Fantasies has hosted a great show. I had the chance this past month to go to the 9th annual Lakefront Tour and let me tell you it was a blast with 350+ entries you know all you can do is have fun. My favorite feature about this show is the Louisiana hospitality, the people at this show are nothing but nice so if you have a problem all you have to do is mention it to one of the staff members and they will get you taken care of.
Well on the way down to Louisiana we had a little problem with a piece of rubber flying up and placing a nice dent on our fender but once we stopped and got some beer the dent started looking better. We got in Lake Charles about 10ish and we immediately hit the show grounds but everybody had already cruised out to the casino or to eat or something. Needless to say since I do not need to be gambling we got directions to the nearest Wal-Mart and hung out there for a while to pass the time and get some Christmas shopping started (just kidding).
Well Saturday morning rolls around and it is time for the show to begin. I get to the show grounds around 11 or so and I make my way up to the events list, (piece of poster board with the days agenda written on it). Once I saw this I knew my day would be busy, some of the events included tug-o-war, tricycle races, wheel burrow race, fooz-ball tournament, dance contest , Db Drags and the main event, the BIKINI CONTEST. During the day I had the chance to hang out with numerous people and clubs including Explicit Concepts and Severed Ties, while walking around I saw that Negative Camber brought out a couple rides and Extreme from Jennings brought out enough members to take home the club participation trophy. During the day to keep the contestants content Midnight Fantasies brought in the ramps and rails for an extreme sport demonstration that was truly top notch entertainment also the Db drag competition was going on to see who had the most money in their stereo…I mean the best stereo with the biggest BOOM.
As Saturday came to a close it was time for the BIKINI CONTEST. Let me tell you, this had to be on of the best BIKINI CONTEST that I have been to. Every one of the girls was good looking (face and body), not one of the girls looked trashy or like a hoochie they all were classy and well worth the money they won. Cheers Bar sponsored the BIKINI CONTEST and the crowd did the judging for the girls. I am sorry to say that my favorite girl did not win even though she was the only one to bare the breast, but overall this was a very good clean contest that the whole family would have enjoyed.
After the bikini contest it was time to head back to the hotel and prepare for some Cajun grub. So needless to say it was time to eat I had the chance to hang out with my friends in Xposed Visionz at Pats restaurant some where in Lake Charles. Once I Got a couple Beers down me and a belly full of food it was time to go meandering around and find some trouble. Luckily the IMpaSSta called me to let me know where the Severed Ties guys were at, so I hung out with them for a while before turning in for the night.
Sunday rolls around and small showers are still looming around but nothing to serious. Sunday was a good day for me to check out the vendors and might I say “DAMN” there were some great vendors there that had plenty of shiznit to go around. The food vendors also had some great food whether you wanted pizza, B.B.Q. or Mexican food man they had it all. The vendor that kept my attention the most was the beer vendors…and at a reasonable price. Before I took off to head back home I got to check out the hydraulic competition and might I say it was entertaining and it made me think about putting some juice on my own caddy. Even though I did take off early I did get a list off the best of show awards and for those who didn’t get a best of and don’t want your class trophy just let me know cause the trophies were sweet and showed that Roger and the guys from Midnight Fantasies wanted there participants back next year.
Before I run off I would like to thank Midnight Fantasies and Roger for your greatly appreciated hospitality and for letting Streetscenemag take part in the 9th annual Lakefront Tour show, I cant wait till next year.
