Andrew scrapped the front bumper and replaced it with a model from a Toyota 4 Runner, then installed a phantom grille shell. The inside of the bed was also replaced with sheet metal, for an overall smooth appearance.

With everything shaved and smoothed to Andrew's tastes, he delivered his truck to Denny Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi for color. Denny first applied the House Of Kolor Trublue and cream two-tone, then gave the Mazda more life with House Of Kolor Magenta Pearl and Sunrise Pearls flames. Denny the used a shade of green to pinstripe and bring life into the color scheme. Generous amounts of clear were then sprayed and Andrew's Mazda was finally starting to take shape.
