We all love this way of life on different levels. I love building mini's because let's face it; I'm too big to skateboard anymore. Seriously, I love taking something ugly, like my Nissan, from stock into what it is now... A primered mini with a load of mods...LOL. It's fun to sit down, and lay out either on paper or in your head, what you want the end result to be. The endless nights with bondo dust covering your cloths, thinking about how long it's going to take to get the stuff out from under your nails. The smell of fresh primer is great, not as nice as the fresh smell of paint but close. Isn't it great to order something, then wait like a kid at Christmas, for it to show up? I at times get burnt out on my truck wanting to not even look at it for weeks. At those times I try to think about what drew me to build it in the first place.... chic magnet... no, no that was the first truck when I was single. Now I build them because I hate stock vehicles, manufactures always put on extra shit like door handles, and stuff that you don't even need. Bottom line I love customizing, the people in it, and the basic enjoyment of watching the eyes of the average Joe when you drag by them. I had a thought the other day about preserving our past to take into the future with us. Wouldn't it be cool to have a place where you could go and pay a little admission fee to look at some of the badest minis, full size cars/trucks, and compacts of our time? There are museums for muscle cars, and just about anything you can think of, so why not us? I would like to be able to go in, and look at ballistic, Lenny Gruver's S 10, Adam Mondragons laid out Lincoln, Ty Zito's Mazda in this type format where you could admire these vehicles, knowing that in the future you could bring back your grandkids showing them what turned your head back in the day. With this said, is anyone out there interested in making this happen? In closing, the basic message is; be dedicated to what's important in your life making time for those things. We choose the friends we have, the clubs we want to be in, and the path we go down for good or bad. One thing we have in common for the people reading this is, we love custom rides, shows, and cruising. Let's come together, and keep this way of life alive. Remember it's not all about logos. Until next month,Russell World Famous. ITFELL007@aol.com
