With the suspension modifications now a satisfying one, Gump then started working the exterior much like Dad used to fix up the horse carriage back when he was a little tike. Starting at the front of the C1500, a phantom grille and phantom bumper would replace the stock pieces. Next the door handles would be shaved along with the antenna. Working to the rear, an Alter Images roll pan would be welded in smooth holding the license plate box.

To finish smoothing out the rear, the tailgate handle would be removed. Robbie Reynolds of Damascus MD is responsible for the bodywork. With the body complete, Robbie would then go over the entire vehicle prepping it for paint. Keeping with family tradition in horse carriage colors, Gump decided to have Robbie Reynolds paint the entire ride GM Maroon. To throw the neighbors off on his Amish ways, Gump had Robbie spray down a set of pearl flames to complement his accomplishments.
