Now that Chris was happy with the look, both inside and out of his car, it was time to give it that extra little power needed to get it going. He knew exactly what he wanted before he even removed the first bolt from his engine. So after gathering all the needed parts it was time to completely tear down this mild mannered Cavalier and make it a full out (street legal) racecar, yet clean enough to still win at shows. The factory 2.4 liter wasn't going to be big enough to handle all the parts Chris had planned for the car so the engine was bumped up to a 2.5 liter. The engine has been ported and polished with JE 9.5 to 1 pistons, HD lifters and MantaPart cams. Chris has also installed under drive pullies and a 180-amp alternator to go along with his new MantaPart timing chain. To make sure the engine gets enough fuel, a Venom fuel rail and RC Injectors were used. To round out the list of HP goodies, there is an AEM intake on a MantaPart throttle bottle, Electromotive ECU, Holly fuel pump and an AEM fuel pressure regulator. He also chose MantaPart motor mounts so they could handle all the torque the new motor mods would produce.

To expel the gasses out of the motor, there is a RK Sport header led to 2.5 inch tubing and an Apex 1 M1 muffler. Now that Chris has the motor strong enough to handle anything, it was time to hook up his full nitrous system from Nitrous Express. This system is a 50 shot complete with a purge and a bottle warmer to make sure the gas will be ready when he chooses spray the motor.
