It was once again time for the most anticipated event of the year. Every year the best of the best try to attend SEMA located in Las Vegas, NV in hopes of capturing the eye of the press or certain manufactures. This is usually the stepping stone of where to present yourself or your build up to company's in hopes of gathering sponsors to help bring your ride to its respectable level.Well this year wasn't only the most anticipated; it was their largest event ever! And not by just a few rides or a few companies we are talking a dramatic difference. And believe me, over a week later and my legs, shins and feet still hurt. Haha Its one thing to walk a show for a couple days, but to walk constantly for 4 days then at night walking the Vegas strip, come on know, even the avid cardio junky can get a damn good work out during this week.My journey started with driving through 8 hours of snow with finally arriving at the hotel at 8am Tuesday morning. My buddy Jason and I checked in and figured we'd try and get a few hours of sleep before heading to the event. Well that plan was nixed because of the over abundance of caffeine that we had engulfed to stay awake during the drive. So the decision was to head out to the show and get in contact with those companies that I told I would visit. With becoming more delusional as the day went on we headed back to the hotel to get some rest for the nighttime activities. Still didn't work for me as I was wide eyed, so naturally I headed down to the black jack tables for some fun. 42 hours with no sleep later I finally crashed out so I could concentrate at the show Wednesday morning. With Wednesday arriving Kevin (SSM-WkdWgn) had covered a large area Tuesday so we decided who was going to cover what and got after it. As I walked the wheel/tire (South Hall) I ran into a familiar face here on SSM, Vanessa Graw at the Konig booth. With our greetings in place we were off to find the EAI booth along with many other companies. Dodge had a large display showing a new Viper housing a carbon fiber trunk, roof and hood with new body lines that was pretty phat. Along side was a bike that housed a Viper engine; you know that baby would scream!

That night was kind of a blur along with the rest of the trip as Wednesday night I believe I drank WAY too much. Go figure huh? Haha… There were a lot of tight ass rides, like Bill from Ekstensive's Tahoe and the 2, yeah I said 2 body dropped H2's located in the North Hall. Dave's ride, Catch22 took Maguire's best paint and walked away with a nice chunk of change which was fitting as Ford was this years sponsor of the event. If you've never been to SEMA and have always wanted to figure out how the whole sponsor thing works this is the event you NEED to attend. But if you are going you should plan on booking your hotel and getting registered months in advance to make your life MUCH easier.Text By: Garrick ArendsPhotos By: Garrick ArendsKevin McCanliesChas Nichols
