This years SEMA was above and beyond any other SEMA that I have attended over the past 6 years. The vehicle quality was back up to a top-notch quality show and the after hour activities were hilarious and entertaining. As we arrived late Saturday we’d meet up with Huppie, Pecker and Poop to get sleeping arrangements situated and then we’d head out on the strip for a good ol’ time. The phrase “Hell yeah I suck toes” would quickly take place followed by “welcome to America”. These phrases would carry out through out the week with many more to follow. As Sunday arrived we’d head down to the show area to see what vehicles were getting ready to pull in to the show and talk to people we haven’t seen in awhile. After hanging around a little bit we’d decide to head to Pricz tattoo to check a few things out and then head to In and Out to introduce the PA guys to what a good burger would be. With the freaks out and about for Halloween we’d get changed up and begin making fun of or utilizing peoples costumes for our own personal laughter. Monday would mean an early wake up so that we could pick up our badges and begin covering the exterior of the SEMA to get it out of the way. We’d begin by checking out a few highly anticipated rides such as the body dropped Escalade on 26’s now painted with full interior, Bill from Ekstensive’s laid out 300 on 24’s and Chris Starr’s 4-runner just to name a few exterior rides. Exhausted from walking around and thirsty we’d head back to the hotel and meet up with everyone to get some grub and get our drink on. Monday would follow up nicely to Sunday and Saturday, as the heckling would continue with plenty of smut handlers to make fun of. At this point the week nights would begin to blur together as to what we did and where at. For those of you that where there Sat-Sat, you know what I’m talking about. As the doors opened to everyone Tuesday, Jason and I would begin our coverage of the different halls. There would be great quality in all halls with plenty of trucks, cars and SUV’s to look at. As usual the models where in full force signing posters and handing out marketing materials. Some notable rides in attendance this year would be Courtney’s Titan with a fresh paint job and new wheels, Gumpy’s (SSM Name) killer Magnum,

KUSTOMWERKS body dropped 4 Runner, the Terminator Truck in the Ford area, Roadster Tiburon along with a number of others that I’m sure I’ll fail to mention. All in all for the show aspect of Sema weekend the rides where top notch along with a number of new innovative ideas coming out of the wood works. As the night half of the week took place there is always plenty to talk about but only so much typing wanting to be done so I’ll attempt to give you the short version. As a group of us headed down to Fremont Street a couple nights we found plenty to do in order to occupy our time. For instance trying to pay bums to run out into traffic to get hit by cars. We had the pot up to $160 and we still couldn’t find a taker. Rumor has it that the bums in Baltimore would do this for $5. After our failed attempts we tried to re-enact bum fights but apparently around the 4 Queens they are all lovers not fighters. We managed to make friends with one bum who we bought shots for. Huppie managed to depants him twice with after the second time the bum looked at him with spoken words “you’s a quick mutha fucka”. Wednesday night was the Circle Bar at the Hard Rock as usual where Lite played live for those that had passes while the others continued to stay around the bar and get plenty drunk. Most of us don’t remember getting back to our rooms, which is always great. There was plenty of gambling as well as our casino had the new favorite game called Black Jack Switch. Just ask Kool Laid about that game as I think he was the only one that liked it more then me.So there you have the short quick version of my SEMA trip. If you’ve never been you need to plan on making it next year as it is always a great time no matter where you are, who you are with or what the weather is like. Hell our PA guys drove 38 hours straight one way to go and say they would do it again in a heart beat so either they are crazy (well they are but that’s besides the point) or it really is that much fun. Only you can make that call but to do so you must first attend the show.By Garrick ArendsPhotos by Garrick Arends and Jason Craig
