Well, it's December and we all know that means that hopefully the wish lists we made over the year will be filled. The year has gone by so fast, and I guess they'll continue to do so the older I get. My son turns 6 this month, wow. Without any delay, release the valves, and we'll drag into this month's insanity. Like every other Minitrucker I know, I have a wish list of things I'd like to see under the tree or in the garage on Christmas Day for my two project trucks. Some things on my list include: chrome parts for the Nissan, wheels, a saw-zall, welder, billet pieces, and other goodies. The simple wish, I reckon, would be that the TRUCK FAIRY would come by and "PUFF," it's a cover truck. Okay so I know that's just a dream, but hey, what a good one. Of course I guess I could go out and buy a TV dinner but what fun would that be? Anyway, I hope you get all the things on your wish list for your custom project. My son, Nicholas "Boogie" Gulow, is turning 6 this month. It seems like yesterday he was coming home from the hospital. Now he's got things like hitting switches, checking out babes, going to shows, and of course taunting truckers to "Drag It" down to an art form. I like to think he's a chip off the old block, but his Mom, the MiniTruckerChic herself, has helped mold him into the future customizer we hope he'll become. His wish list goes as such "Dad I want a truck with bags, shaved, a pretty girl, and wild paint all over it." He doesn't ask for much. Kids are great; and kids of customizers seem to be a breed in themselves. I guess because they grow up doing what it took us years to learn was cool. Every year I get to meet new people, and with luck spend time with those that I already have ties with. Some of the people I'd like to thank that have made this year special to me and supported me in my sometimes crazy decisions include: Chad "Skittles" Mushlitz, James "Shorty, Pancake" Shortway, Charles "The Kid" Armstrong, Lee & Elena Farmer, The crew at Ekstensive Metal Works for making the dually easier to get into, The people from Stressed Environment, Creative Style, and SubCulture for reminding me why shows are so fun anyway, my friends in Severed Ties and Negative Camber, and others I have met in the past year. The last two people I want to mention are special in their own ways. The first is Mike Reeves who I got to meet and hangout with for the first time at the Nopi Nationals this year. His Toyota screams with smoothness, cleanliness, and subtle modifications that take a couple times to notice. Mike is not just defined by his toy. Between helping others, doing for his wife, and collecting Barry Manilow CD's, he stays rather busy. If you happen to see Mike at a show, take the time to say hey.

He'll probably be with another guy named Shane that looks like the lead singer from Staind (kick ass band by the way). The other guy I wanted to thank is Lance Martz. Most people have varied opinions of him. I would like to thank him for not only busting his ass on a magazine that we as minitruckers crave every month, but for being a supportive friend over the years. Well, that wraps up 2001 for Made 2 Drag. Next year I hope to have some new and exciting stories for you. I hope to hit more shows, and meet more people that will help add to the stories I can bring to you the reader. Until next time keep it low, keep it clean, and take time for those that matter.
