East Coast, West Coast, it don't matter!
Well the end of the year is here. It seems like the season just started yesterday. As with every year, 2002 was packed with tons of ups and downs but it was a great year overall. I ventured to new shows this year, met a host of new people and was fortunate enough to see many great rides. This month, I just wanted to touch on the highlights of 2002 and the things that I remember most.
BLOOD DRAG - This is where it starts for me every year. I look forward to sunshine and warm weather each February. This year was even better because a few of my West Coast friends made the trip to Florida. Great way to start the season! What happened to the bar tab for Big Dave getting naked anyway?!
SPRING BREAK NATIONALS - What can I say? It was Spring Break and I had my friends and a hot chick to spend it with. Can't get any better than that! The streets were packed, the partying was good and cops, well, they weren't so nice. How many trips to the jail did we have to make?
XTREME BASH - Howard and his crew held a one-day, first year show and it kicked ass! Can't wait to attend this one in 2003 when it's a two-day!
SHOWFEST - What can anyone say about Greenville? Only one word comes to mind - AWESOME! The place was packed this year but the fun was never ending!
SLAMMIN' & JAMMIN'- The whole crew was in town for this one, including my man Mike Self. This was a great weekend for sure! We all went to O'charley's to eat dinner Saturday night. I never knew that loaded potato soup had french fries in it though?
TIAO - As always, the trek with my friends from Kontradictions was great. We went to Dallas to basically sweat our asses off the entire weekend. Special thanks to Worm for giving us interesting things to look at all weekend!
EAST COAST NATIONALS - My first year attending this show. Man was I impressed! I had a great time. This was also my first time getting to hang out with Pebble Pushers. They are a great group. The 3am visit to Waffle House with Russell and Brandy Gulow and Lance Martz was a blast. This was also the last time I'd get to see Danny Rowe. What the hell was up with the June Bugs though?!
INDY TRUCK BASH - One of my favorite shows of the year was even better this year. Man, it was packed! Exactly how hot was it in the bar anyway?
NOPI NATIONALS - Well, two days prior to this event with no sleep made for an interesting weekend. Howard, may I suggest having your rides finished a little sooner than 2 hours before you leave to head to the show next time?!!!
This is just a small taste of the awesome year that I had in 2002. I could ramble on forever about the cool people I met; the friends that I was able to party with and the awesome rides that I was fortunate enough to see. What will happen in 2003? We will see soon, as February quickly approaches. Show season will be back in full swing again before we know it.
Thanks for the memories everyone. I can't wait to make new ones in 2003 !!!
