In our industry, there are two types of builders: Those who build many show quality rides and those who build their show quality ride many times. Joe Bernardo is one of those guys who has built his truck over and over again and with every reincarnation it pushes the envelope that much closer to greatness. I have seen Joe’s 1992 Toyota Pick Up in more than a few shades of pink and modification after modification until you see what lies before you now. With this particular truck it is so hard to find a place to begin, because having everything reworked its timeline is so twisted I could write a novel. So we will start with the suspension, Joe took the truck to Brent at Kuts R Us in Porterville, Ca and he reworked the suspension in the form of Slam Specialties RS bags all the way around. Up front, he cupped those with a set of AIM drop spindles and to give the front a lowered stance. Out back, he utilized a three link system with KYB shocks to keep this truck as manageable as possible on those long drives to Southern California shows. While the truck was being bagged, Joe decided to take the truck to next level and put a 2 and ½ in. body drop on the truck.
