The L.A. Auto Show was not like a typical show that SSM would cover but showed some interesting things we might be able to expect from automakers in the future. All major vehicle manufacturers were there showing off their upcoming vehicles, prototypes and concept vehicles. I found out an interesting bit of information while I was there…. Concept vehicles (unlike prototypes) were never designed for production. A concept vehicle is a vehicle manufacturers "Idea". These ideas are generally too far-fetched or too radical to ever end up in production but they create them to show the world were the manufacturer may go in the future. Concept vehicles hardly ever have engines or other parts necessary to make them actually function. Prototypes however are the automakers "beta" versions of there new vehicles. They usually are far more complete and most often times, they actually function. In the photos we took at this show you will see some of these new and radical vehicles. The show included a few customized vehicles, but for the most part they were all production, concept, or prototype vehicles.

The show was set up very similar to SEMA in that it had the "convention" atmosphere. Each automaker had there own "section of the world" so-to-speak. Many of these automakers had some really interesting ideas as you can see… I hope you enjoy it because I found it very interesting.Kris BloomShow Coverage Continued Next Page >>>
