What's up people? Well, February is a cool month because besides Valentine's Day, it's also the month I grow older. If you wish to send presents make sure they're for a 95 Nissan King Cab. Other things that are affecting my world this month are only having one vehicle, spring fever, and some things that a couple of my friends have went through recently. Here's to the joys of getting older. I'll be 28 this month, but I feel like 68 some days. My dad used to tell me "you're only as old as you feel, and I feel with my hands." That's nice Pops, but what if you're a manual laborer type of worker with blisters and rough feeling hands? Either way, there is some truth to what he says. Your mental health can affect your physical health. When you're depressed most of the time, you tend to eat more, stay at home more, and basically tune out from everything around you. I like to call it Gulow world. My other reality is where my truck's super phat, I'm skinny, and I have a phat house with a most righteous shop. When you're happy though, you tend to go out more, hang out with people, eat less, and stay more active. Now back to the age thing, turning 28 isn't that big a deal until you think about things like the amount of time I've been out of high school, how many year's we've been in this apartment, or the amount of time I've been at my present job. Other things that remind me of how old I'm getting is seeing cousins that I used to hold as babies driving around in their first cars, and having jobs of their own. Then of course there's the fake hip, remembering drive in movies, knowing all the words to the songs on the oldies station, and the final straw is when they put songs you listened to in Jr. high on a compilation CD of hits. Okay enough of getting old, listen to me. If you live at home, stay there! The real world isn't that great. If you're in school, learn all you can so you don't have to struggle week to week like 90% of us do. Lastly, enjoy the time you're given and don't try to grow up too fast. Having one car in a family of 3 sucks bad. Brandi and Nicholas have to be at work and school at 8am, and I have to be at work at 6am. We get up at 4am get showered and start making trips shortly after to get everyone where they have to be on time. The same goes for the afternoons gathering everyone up to come home. The system sucks too in the sense that if you have no credit, or bad credit if you do luck up and get a loan they try to break it off in you. In the end you end up with a car that you didn't really want or can't afford. Oh don't be fooled by the rebate, they get that back in taxes, etc.

Isn't spring great? The grass turns green, flowers bloom, the weather gets warmer, and everyone is fornicating, cruising, and having BBQ's. There's nothing quite like a pretty Springtime weekend to go cruise with friends, cook out, and then go spend a beautiful evening with that special someone. It's also the time of year when people get what I call Spring Fever, this is the feeling of wanting to change pace a little, either at home or work, or just the feeling of waking up in the morning and moving all the furniture in your house.Something that has upset me after talking to a couple friends over the last couple of weeks is how we tend to treat people we call friends. I myself am just as guilty. It is a fact that EVERYONE uses everyone in some way, to what extent though is up to us, granted that doesn't make it right. Recently one of my friends told me about how when him and his wife got married, all his clubmates were invited, but none showed. Another friend who used to have people coming over all the time, and calling, doesn't since he sold his "show vehicle." This story isn't new, and my saying this won't change it over night. I do hope you'll consider why you're friends with those people around you? Did you join your club to just get the logo and have something to do? I can't speak for everyone, but when I joined the club I'm in now, I joined with the intent of being in it for life, and being a friend to the people in it for life. If you join something, no matter what it is, just for the namesake you can miss out on the heart of what makes it special. To show you a positive side, a friend of mine called me last year before the Garden State Nationals to invite me up and stay at his family's shore house. He also extended an invite to a clubmate of mine (who I hadn't met in person, and was coming in from a different state). To make a long story short, I didn't make it to the show, but my friend tracked down my clubmate on the highway, and still treated him like an old friend the whole weekend. One last note is that if you go through life screwing people over, it will soon or later come back to you. As we come to an end this month I leave you with this. Call your friends, go cook out, have fun, fornicate with protection, and enjoy the time your given as you may not have it tomorrow. Later all, Russell ST- GA Email: ITFELL007@aol.com
