In our last installment we showed you how to install an 8 point roll cage. In this installment we will be showing you how to paint it (or any other metal pieces) to match the car. The most important material you will need is the paint itself. If you are using a factory color or are able to get the paint code of your paint, you are in luck. Simply take the paint code to your local automotive paint and spray supplier and they should be able to put the color in an aerosol spray can (rattle can). You will also need a can of self etching primer and gray scuff pads.

Start off by taking the seats and any other interior piece that will hinder your ability to get around the pieces you are painting. In our case we took out the seats since the come in contact with the cage. Then mask off the entire interior so you don't get overspray. This is the most important yet difficult and time-consuming part of the process. If you mess up and leave areas exposed then you will not be happy with the results!
