We all know that hosting a 3-day event takes a lot of time and preparation to make the show and all of its festivities run smoothly, especially when it is the first time doing it. Well, I would have to say that the crew from DOA(Dropped on Arrival) did an awesome job over Memorial weekend, teaming up with the Northwest Van Council. So, Fantasy Island X was under way to kick off the show season for the Northwest. Canby, Oregon, was the destination for the much needed long weekend away from the normal BS that plagues all of us from home. As we arrived at the Canby Rod and Gun Club on Friday afternoon, we found the campground already filling up with show goers staking claim to their spots for the weekend. Tanya and I scouted out all of our friends that we look forward to seeing, said our hellos and found our own piece of turf. As expected Friday night was full of the normal drinking and partying until way too early into the morning, which brought me to the conclusion that either I am getting too old to drink that much or I am just getting too old!!!Saturday morning came around and before I rolled my happy ass out of bed, the show grounds were already filling up with the years newest creations and the day had begun. As I looked around while getting the sleepies out I saw clubs such as Sittin Pretti, Magical Minis, Freaks of Nature, Relaxed Atmosphere, Class Act, Negative Behavior, Visions, Mother Goose Customs and so on that were out to show what was goin’ on. Along with many others, the show looked to be a success.Unlike most of the 3 days I have attended in the past, DOA gave out all the hardware from the show on Saturday afternoon, which freed everyone up to enjoy the evening festivities as they please or if you were just lame you could hit the road and trek for home. Needless to say, if you chose the second option you were the minority. Activities such as the DJ spinning tunes or the Adult Haystack contest kept us all entertained. Not to mention we had a great view of people getting duct taped inside the Port O John from our campsite.

Staggering up out of bed Sunday morn’ most of us were greeted to zip tied tents, hangovers and mosquito bites from hell but all in all it was worth it in the end. With the first show of the year under our belts we all packed our gear, said our farewells and hit the roads for home I would have to say it was a great way to kick off the season.Until next time, stay safe!Visionsho and KravitsTanya and Jason
