How ya'll is? It's April already, the month of the Easter Bunny and...eeewww...TAX TIME!!! I hope ya'll took care of them already! Hard to believe that show season is here again. Seems like there's never enough time to get everything done to your ride, this is a feeling that I know all to well. It's really easy to get discouraged when things happen or your family keeps asking you "why do you sink all that money into that ride, instead of something useful, like a house or an ejuhmuhcayshun?" It's a form of self-expression. Can you imagine what the world would be like if Picasso had listened when the ny-sayers said his paintings were terrible? This would be a pretty dull place, if you ask me! As far as I am concerned, I wouldn't call our lifestyle a waste of time, far from it I say. You've just got to take the good with the bad. Sometimes the negativity comes from the very people that you look too for support, and that is the hardest to deal with. Anyways, the best thing to do when faced with adversity is to grit your teeth and bear it. I had grand plans of shaving my doors and tailgate, but other things came up that required my immediate attention ...that's what life is sometimes! It's all about priorities. I was looking forward to hanging with my EC brothers and sisters at Spring Bash in Lawton, Oklahoma, but the opportunity came up to go to Spring Fling in Panama City Beach, Florida...that's just TOO GOOD to pass up! What does this have to do with anything you ask? Well, in my short time here on Earth I have learned that every minute is precious, so I had to prioritize what was more important...being with my club or going to a new (for me) show and heave the potential of making a lot of new friends and contacts.

I can say that I have missed out on many things due to my own misguided ignorance ..hehe. I have now prioritized my life do that I am in a position to take advantage of things that I would have had to miss. I don't want to be the old man at the end of the street that all the neighbor kids fear, but the one that regales them with stories of how it "was" when I was young, with stories that WE as minitruckers have written or lived. I guess what I'm trying to say is this...when you get discouraged take heart, know that we have all been there at one point or other. Take solace in the fact that your friends are there to help not hinder you. Always take criticism with a grain of salt, it's usually meant to help you, not piss you off! So remember ya'll..when nothing is going right on your ride, put your tools up, call your buds and get away from it for a night. It never hurts to come back to a project with a fresh frame of mind! Ya'll take it easy this summer and if you drink, don't drive...the life you save may be your own! Until next month, keep your wheels spinnin' and the beavers grinnin'!!
