A minitrucker knows when the show season is getting under way when it is time for the Sweet Temptations Spring Bash. This was the 10th annual bash held in Lawton Oklahoma at the Great Plaines coliseum on April 7-8 2001. To no surprise this year was bigger and better than any other year especially with the use of three buildings instead of the one used in past years. Over the years a big complaint of this show was always the "space", well this year Woody and the boys went all out and got all 3 buildings on the lot which relieved a lot of the "space" problem. A majority of the rides on hand were in the bigger building that they kept open so people could pull in and out unlike the years before. In the past years contestants set up was on Friday and your truck/car would remain in the same spot until Sunday after the show, which we all know that is not a very fun job. As for the other buildings one was used for the stereo competition and the other had a few rides but it was used mainly for entertainment and contests. This year I really did not get to see too much do to the fact I had to work on Saturday and we didn't arrive until about 5 in Lawton. Once we did get to the show a lot of people had already taken off to get shined up for the night but I did catch up with Woody Wilson, the head honcho in charge, and received my confirmation on my hotel. Before I could get away to head to the hotel I did catch up with my boys from "GRAVITY PERMITS" and found out what the itinerary was for Saturday night…and the plan as always in Lawton Oklahoma is "dragons west" party hosted by the all time party crew "EXPLICIT CONCEPTS". With the plans for the night in mind we headed off to find the hotel and get showered and ready to roll. Now that we had are room all I can say is, damn, Woody sure knows how to take care of his guest because this room was PHAT…you name it, this room had it. Now that we were settled in and cleaned up it was time to roll. Before we headed out to party with EC and the others we decided to cruise for a while and watch some people make fools of themselves or watch the locals wonder what the hell was going on. After driving back and forth a couple time s we said fuckit lets park and do this but as soon as we parked Johnny law told us to move so we moved our asses straight out to dragons west were the party was on and the cops were not Once we rolled up in there Big Carl was quick to point out the ropes with the $14 gallon beer and the steering wheel above the dance floor were the girls spin around. After watching a few girls and drinking a few beers it was time for me to head out and prepare for tomorrows events.

Sunday morning came quickly and as we pulled up to the show again people were already out shining there rides up and this was the time were I was able to walk around and get a majority of my pictures. As I walked around I saw a lot of badass rides and quite a few new rides that came out BIG. Besides noticing all the rides I noticed that there wasn't but a couple rides out there from 3 of this nations biggest clubs (//RA, , /NC\). Not that this show needed them because the small clubs showed up and took charge. I was very glad to see one certain club come out and kick ass and that would be LOWERLEVEL, a club that I thought was dying away came out to prove me wrong. Other clubs include SUBCULTURE and PLEASURES came out looking strong, DRASTIC MEASURES had a couple out there and STRESSED ENVIROMENT for a new club they came out looking good. These were not the only clubs out there but I can't remember everyone, lol. Besides checking out the rides there were a few contest going on which included the chugging contest, which Big Ass from EC won (go figure), bikini contest, hydro/air hop and dance contest, and a burn out contest that I didn't get to finish watching do to difference of opinion..lol Overall on a scale to 1-10 I would have to give this show a solid 8 and the guys of SWEET TEMPTATIONS did a great job putting on this show and it is the best Spring Bash I have ever been to and I can not wait till next year cause I am sure it will be even better.
