With the '02 season kicking off, I started my season with the Sweet Temptations "Spring Bash" in Lawton Oklahoma. Spring bash is always a great show with a lot of fresh vehicles. Unfortunately I had to work on Saturday so I did not get to the show until about 6 in the evening. Even though I did get to the show late I had no problem getting a majority of the show coverage, and seeing the tricycle races that had everyone amused. Around 8:30 we headed back to the Howard Johnson to get changed and eat the Mickey D's that we picked up on the way there. Now with being in fresh clothes and full stomachs we hooked up with Yuhoe and Sandy and headed to Night Trips (local tit bar). Once were at the bar it was packed with minitruckers and plenty of beer to go around. After I was unexpectedly called up on stage I received about 10 lap dances and a ripped shirt, I was set for the rest of the evening. After consuming enough alcohol for a small army we decided to head to the hotel. Sunday was a new day and the weather was a lil dreary but at least it was an all-indoor show. With time to kill before the awards I had time to chit chat with all the different clubs such as Pleasures (which always comes out big at this show) and Explicit Concepts. I also talked with a few of the venders such as Billet Accessories Direct, Drop Em Wear and Street Skins. With talking to all these people I barley had enough time to grab a bite to eat and get back and watch the killer hydro/bag-hopping contest. Around 4 o'clock I got a call from my dad in Dallas saying that the weather was going to get real ugly and it would be best if I try to get back to town before the storms hit. So needless to say I was out like a boner in sweatpants and made it home about 2 minutes before it became a turd floater (really bad rain).

Overall spring bash is a cool show no matter how the weather is because it is indoor, they always have great rides and great judging. This year spring bash brought in about 300 rides from my guess with a lot of great vendors. A person can never get bored with this show due to the list of activities going on all day and the killer party that Explicit Concepts hosts on Sat. night at Dragons West. This show is always a killer way to kick off the outdoor season and from the looks of the show it is going to be a badass season and cant wait to see what's going to happen this year.Chas NicholsSSM-pyroBagdpyro@aol.com
