Billy started the project by finding the cab and front clip of a completely wore out 59' Apache. Ok so I know your asking why only the cab and clip. Well if you'll hold your horses I'll tell yeah. See Billy only needed the cab and front clip because that was all he planned to use of it. Billy took the frame, motor, suspension, bed and part of the interior of a 1988 Chevy ½ ton donor truck to use in a perfect mix with the 59's cab and front clip. Billy took the 59' cab and placed it on the 88' frame reworking the cab mounts to accept the Apache cab. Once the cab was firmly set on its new foundation it was then time to move attentions to the rear of the truck. Billy once again pulled out all the stops and added an 88' Chevy step-side bed, but to make sure that the bed fit correctly it was turned over to the fiberglass skills of Tim Dupre of Houma, La. Tim cut, sectioned, shaped and reworked the bed until it fit perfectly behind the 59' cab. While Tim had his tools out he shaved the tailgate handle and molded in a new rollpan. Once the bed was permantly in place a set of 88' Altezza Euro clear taillights were then temporarily installed in the factory location to give it a new flair. To add style to the cab Tim shaved the vent glasses of the cab to loose the Farmer Brown look. Once the body was straight Billy knew it would be awhile before he was ready to lay down the final paint scheme so Billy asked Tim to prime the truck flat black.

Once the primer covered the Apache Billy and Tim both agreed there was something missing. So with this in mind Tim broke out the fine line, and plenty of it in the form of Retro flames. Once the outline was in place Tim applied several coats of House of Colors and PPG red, orange and yellow paint to form the retro flamed out beast you see before your very eyes. Once the flames were in place Tim covered the flames and only the flames with several coats of clear to bring shine to the retro flames.
