During the weekend of April 8th, 9th and 10th Brandon Leblanc and his crew threw together their second coming of Gator Drag in Jennings, Louisiana. Pops and I arrived in Jennings around 5pm Friday evening after an early morning flight, a two hour time change, and a long ass car drive. The first task on the agenda was to get some beer in the system; we took a trip over to the local Wally world upon our arrival we were stunned to see the amount of quality customized vehicles already posting up shop at the Comfort and Holiday Inn. Once we got acquainted with our new found home for the weekend (Comfort Inn) we met up with Brandon and his Crew along with some other familiar faces (Kool Laid, and the rest of the rowdy crowd). Thanks to the Gator Drag team for supplying endless amounts of Crawfish for everyone to feast upon. With drinks in hand and video cameras ready we took the hotel parking lots by storm, although it was the Friday before the show we found plenty to do to keep ourselves entertained (you’ll have to pick up future domination the video DVD’s to see it all) Once the sun started to rise on Saturday the Gator Drag staff had already begun rolling show vehicles into the large grass show fields which would quickly fill up as the afternoon approached. When we arrived at the show there were already hundreds of clean trucks for the crowds of people to check out. After the onslaught of photographs and film was covered we checked out Luke and the Eksessiv crew destroy the competition at the tug-o-war contest as well as the tire toss which was surprisingly entertaining. The Gator Dray staff had a DJ playing music all weekend, and had plenty of Southern Cajun food going around. The show couldn’t have gone any better on Saturday, so we figured we’d celebrate Mike Alexander’s birthday by getting together 30 or the craziest minitruckers and taking over the Holiday Inn restaurant. I’m still not sure how much the bill was for that dinner, but I’m guessing quite a bit since they ran out of pitchers to serve us drinks in. Watching Mike have his birthday cake slammed in his face and Gooch taking a horrible shot to the money maker might be enough entertainment for an average person, but not to us.

By 10 pm rolled around we had dozens of trucks lined up for a potentially insane drag session that myself and the Domination crew had prepared to film. After the cops booted up from our meeting spot, we eventually got a mass of vehicles on the free way for a good Southern spark show. $200 cash was even presented by Kool Laid to Matt from Alabama for dragging the muffler off his body dropped hard body. All in all Gator Drag weekend is definitely a date that everyone should mark on their calendar for next year, this show only has potential to get bigger, and I know we will definitely be back next year. Congrats to Brandon and the rest of the Gator Drag staff for once again putting together a very successful show and a very entertaining weekend. Oliver PorterDominationTheVideo.com
