Has hell become frigid all of a sudden? The temperature had to have dropped at least a few degrees, right? These were just a couple of thoughts running through my tiny little mind as I pulled into West Coast Nationals. The first thing I saw was Craig Elder from Fallbrook, California with his Chevy Astro Van finally completed! I know, I know…. brace yourselves, it's true. And oh yeah, it is SO BAAD! Imagine one sunny afternoon cruising down the boulevard and you pass by a parking lot. Now about this time

is when on an ordinary ride you would notice the gleam of sun coming off of the 20 inch Arelli Q’s which are wrapped in Pirelli 255/35/20 Pzero’s. But, on this day it would be something different. After all, when you can only see half of the rim it isn’t going to gleam as much as it would if on a normal ride. But instead you notice the bright ass Tangelo Pearl Orange paint with phat ass graphics on a bodydropped Astro Van. Your thoughts on vans would never be the same. Craig, being well known in the scene as building crazy ass rides, has yet another to add to his resume. After his last ride, a 1997 yellow Chevy Suburban 4x4 that was featured in a few different magazines, it was time to finish a project that has been in the works for a few years now. Being a part of the scene for six years, Craig has picked up on many of the fads and even helped create a few of his own. Turning to Mike's Tint Shop and owner Mike Covin, the tint was taken to a new level. Being a custom to having tribal graphics and flames cut in his previous rides, Craig wanted something that would fit the style of his new project (or shall we say had forever but finally going to finish project…..Sorry couldn’t resist it!) One could just imagine what the out come was going to be. Needless to say, what Craig ended up with was a bad ass tint job that was a one of a kind. While keeping the flames going, they also added an array of leopard graphics along with them.
