With two shows on our hands in the same weekend and summer fast approaching, Kris and I both decided that we'd head to Laughlin a little early to check things out and prepare for a crazy weekend. So to start things off we flew out of Boise early Thursday morning so we could arrive in Laughlin shortly after noon to look the city over and get our gamble on. After landing in Vegas and picking up the rental, we decided to stop by and see Adam "Big Puddin'" Hartley on our way out of town. As always, he humored us during our short visit. So off we were in the nice rental to the show that would some how tear it up beyond belief. After arriving and picking up our hotel room for the night, before Kris would head across the river to camp the rest of the weekend, it was time to get a bite to eat. After eating we ventured out and about were we would run in to many friends to kick it with. While there we even managed to shoot a couple features, which was a load off my shoulders as I wouldn't have to hunt them down during the crazed weekend. As night fell, we found ourselves between a few campsites being feed refreshing beverages and some really tasty cherries. What happen next….. Good question, but Friday morning came toooo soon. After finding a Denny's to eat at, it was time to head off to camp to find Kris's main squeeze. Once we found her, I was off to shoot another feature and end up losing Kris for the rest of the weekend. I believe the rest of the weekend I saw him like twice, ha..ha After the photo shoot, I was on a mission to find the Pleasures crew who I was supposed to stay with for the weekend. I then found myself back at camp where The rental would stay the night and I'd find myself in Bill Carlton's body dropped dually dragging through all of the campsites. After grabbing a few brew's, I chilled with Bill and went to the "Loser's Lounge" were we would meet up with Courtney and the NC crew cold chillin.

As Saturday came about, it was time to get up and get Bill's dually ready to shoot for SSM. After getting ready we come to find out that it had been raining all morning. So dressing for the occasion, we head to the show. At the Motorsports Expo there were quality rides after quality rides. In between rain showers I managed to get as many of the finest rides I could snap at. As the day went on, so did the storm. I then finished shooting the show, featured a couple more rides and prepared for the nightlife. I have Shawn (Slim) to thank for keeping me entertained Saturday evening and into the night. After we headed to the campsites and drug his body dropped 2000 full-size Chevy Step-side I about had enough for the night, so I thought. I some how found my way to a club called the jungle or something, located in the Goldend Nugget where I would meet up with Kevin from Pleasures and Elizabeth from IV Everlow. Needless to say I had a very long way to go in order to catch up to Kevin's status. It didn't take long before realizing that I didn't really want to venture down that road so I then retired to my room. This is definitely a show that I will attend next year. The location of the show was great and the atmosphere was nothing shy of perfect. If you did not manage to attend this years Motorsports Expo, I encourage you to mark it on your list of shows for next year.By Garrick Arends
