Here is the set of springs I chose for this project. 1.5” Goldlines. After securing the car and loosening the lug nuts, (we started on the front of the car) remove the top center cover from the front struts. Be sure to leave the wheel on the car. Its weight will absorb the spring pressure.

I recommend doing a corner at a time. Make sure the car is still sitting on the ground at all four corners before removing this strut nut. If you don’t have access to a lift and spring compressor, this is the best way to remove the strut. Remove the center nut from the strut. Once the top center nut is removed, slowly jack up that corner until the pressure is off the spring. This is where using the weight of the car as leverage comes in handy. With this top nut off, the strut itself will fall out of the top mount once all the weight is off that corner. Now that the top of the strut is loose and all the spring pressure is gone, jack the car up enough to get the wheel off the ground and remove that wheel. Now remove the two lower bolts on the strut. This is what holds the strut to the spindle. Be sure to unhook any brake lines, etc that may be hooked or bolted to the strut itself. Make sure you remove the sway bar end link from the strut using an Allen wrench and an open end. (There will be a picture of this on the reinstall)
