Not even a little rain the night before and clouds forecasted for the weekend could hinder this show. These hot rods came as far as Washington and even the east coast to attend this Good Guys show. This show has been in my back yard for three years and I am just now finally getting the chance to attend and cover this show. Unfortunately I was only able to hit this show up opening day due to another show I needed to cover in LA. But one day was better than none. And I will definitely be back next year. Since I was there first thing opening day I was able to watch and here many of these rods rumble into the show. The entire day the rods just kept rolling in one after the other joining the hundreds of tricked out rods that had arrived the night before in the rain. I can only imaging how many cars will be piled into the Del Mar fair grounds by Saturday!I personally would have to say that hot rods are the cream of the crop as far as custom automobiles go. What makes these the best, in my opinion is that almost anything can be a hot rod. From a car, to a truck, to a semi, and anything else that can be imagined. It seemed like every single rod at this show was a body off restoration. Not just a stock car with some bolt on parts and designs over a stock paint job. These rods were professionally refurbished and had any custom parts that were needed to capture the right look. Topping off all of these rods were custom paint jobs in colors that you couldn’t imagine. Contrast in colors and combinations of colors performed by the painters finish off these rides with just the right touch. So a rumbling engine under the hood, rolling on custom billet wheels wrapped in the best rubber, and interiors covered with the perfect quality fabrics is all it takes to get you a show worthy rod. So if you are fortunate enough to have a custom hot rod, be sure to show it at the next Good Guys event near you.
