Show N' Go 2005
Show N' Go 2005
The 7th annual spring classic Show-N-Go was held at Englishtown’s Raceway Park this year. The show is put on by German Squad (www.germansquad.com) one of the worlds largest foreign car clubs to date. Because the show only gets bigger and bigger each year, and it is held on the same day as in Import show only a few yards away, this show always has a huge gathering. This year though Show-N-Go had more entries than years past reaching over 500+ cars entered in just the show. That’s not even counting the cars that just entered to race that day. For foreign car enthusiasts this show is one of the largest and most important to attend. Each year I have attended the quality and quantity of rides at the show have only gotten better and better. And for a person who is into this style of show it is definitely an attention grabber.
The show this year, as always, featured a fairly good-sized swap meet. You could pick up anything from old parts like fenders, doors, windows, motors, transmissions, turbo’s, to new parts like exhausts, turbo’s, suspensions, wheels, and many other parts. Some of the booths even had rare Porsche and Audi wheels and hard to find parts for cars that people may be restoring. But what most looked forward to was the races. This year in fact was a big year for German Squad member Jeff Clark who beat the world record for fastest MK4 body style street driven GTI. Jeff ran an 11.7 @ 117 pushing the record that much further out of reach (his car can be seen in the pictures, it is the blue 20th Gti). The cars at the starting line also gave some pretty decent smoke shows.
This show is a big show to attend, and a next year it will be held on the bigger show field at Englishtown due to its large number of entrants. For more information on this show log on to www.show-n-go.info or www.germansquad.com. Enjoy the coverage.
