At the time of the accident Russ was still showing his 87 so this truck was the least of his worries. With a few best of shows under his belt he decided in the middle of the 99-show season he had in deed had enough. Russ stripped his truck down to almost nothing and sent his frame out to have some work done to it, and through this all Russ ran into some problems in his relationship causing him to part ways with his 95 Nissan. Miraculously after a short period of time Russ was able to trade his ex a 1990 Pathfinder for the 95 Hardbody and from then on in the fun began.

With all the parts left from Russ’s previous show truck getting it ready for show season would not even be an issue, but building it would prove to be a task. In the summer of 2003 Russ and some close friends, Aaron Borger and Mike Huth, pulled his truck into the garage and went to work. The truck was bagged and four linked and set up to lay frame. The air setup includes 2 Viair 350’s, and a 10 gallon air tank. Russ spent the rest of the summer installing the fuel cell, flaring the bedsides, and replacing a few dented panels. By the spring of 2004 the truck was ready for the body shop.
