Lay'd Out at the Park 2006. Bigger, better, more coverage, more vendors, more stunts, more draggin' and finally a Bikini contest. 517 cars and trucks entered into Cherokee Park in Morristown, TN, to be judged by the judging staff. All shapes and sizes of trucks and cars, foreign and domestic, were all over the rolling hillsides of the park with paint and chrome shining for all to see. Vendors across the tops of the hills so you could buy T-shirts from Drop'em Wear, Mini-truck Cartel, Garage Tease.com (Thanks for the DVD with the Work shirt deal), Minitrucksmafia.com(Thanks for having 4x), KEG Clothing, and a few more. A stock floor body drop was raffled off for $20 dollars a chance. Several food vendors and a picnic area to sit and eat.Saturday night draggin' and stunt show was off the hook. I will give anybody some advice if you are coming next year. Bring a jacket and gloves and long pants. It may be April but it gets cold at night in TN this time of year. Thank goodness I have extra padding to keep me warm. The picture of the promoter, Jeffrey Dillard, shivering while checking the 5 lane wide road the town lets the show use for the draggin' and bike stunts ought to prove this point. Legal draggin' with the fire department and police there in case of any problems and an ambulance in case of any big problems. Oliver from Domination the Video, and Brad from Concrete Video, hopping in and out of different vehicles to film the drag sessions for future DVDs plus other photographers and people with video cameras doing the same.Jeffrey says he plans to have the show at the same location and around the same time in April. Check out www.Laydoutatthepark.com for information on next years show. Maybe by then, Jeffrey will have stopped smiling from ear to ear from being surrounded by the bikini contest winners. I have to thank Barret Stewart of Outkast Customs SC for letting me use some pictures of rides I had missed. If you are in the Southeast, Lay'd Out at the Park is one hell of a show that if you can make it to, go. You will not be disappointed.by James Riggins
