California Truck Jamboree
Irvine, CA Ahhh what a day! It’s about 7am and I’m hung over, but damn it is nice outside! After getting the crew together and on the freeway to find the Jam, my day was about to begin and my vacation was almost over. As we finally arrived at the park, there were already a ton of rides in the parking lot to take a look at what the Jam had to offer. My first thought was, “Damn, there are nicer rides laying flat in the parking lot than there are in the whole state of Idaho!” (No potato jokes, please!)
As we entered the park (which, by the way, I even had to pay to get in too because I forgot my press info) the first thing we saw was the car audio area. After seeing the rides that were in this section, the show was telling me that we were in for a treat. At about this time I started noticing all the silicone prancing around! Damn…I just may have to relocate. ha ha ha….
One thing that was surprising to see was SEMA’s Showman Of The Year L.J. Garcia with his Feels wide-body Civic. He was playing around with his air cylinders for the crowd. LJ, always puts on a side-show at every event he attends.
Heading into another section, we found ourselves eye to eye with chrome everywhere! I felt as if we were about to go in the mountains or something because there where Excursions, F-350’s, and Suburbans all over! I was glad to see all of the chrome undercarriage work.
After wandering around for several minutes, I needed to check my hair because there was more and more T & A out and about!
After checking out the one and only PT Cruiser there, we walked around the corner and there it was! I heard all about it, but thought it was a joke! The body-dropped, chop-topped Toyota we all came to love was so high that if I wasn’t careful while opening the door, I’d smack myself in the forehead! Talk about one extreme to another, he is definitely showing fools what time it is! Next to that, there was a tow-truck in full graphics and enough chrome to blind you.
About this time, there was something pointed out to me that had to be captured and placed here for all to enjoy. After all, isn’t that my job? I may not want to take pictures of some fine hunnies, but then I wouldn’t be covering the FULL event for you, would I? I found myself wandering aimlessly around the show site and happen to run into Craig Elder. As we know, he is always up to something new. Once again he didn’t disappoint anyone. There it was sitting next to his van, a 23-inch rim with a tire mounted to it! Damn, this was going to be a crazy day!
Then at the main stage there was your normal dance crowd with the 12 guys holding mag lights on the 2 chicks grooving on each other. Always a crowd favorite. By the time I get back to the camp, I find only a couple people up. Half are passed out and the other half are out looking for action. What kind of action I'm not sure but where ever it is I'm sure they'll find it.
At this point, it was already as big as last year and I could see rides parked all over the place. Oh, did I mention the T & A? Yeah it was there in full force as well. Even the “Got 20’s” fine ass honey was there!
As I walk through the valley of death, uhh, sorry I’m getting this mixed up with the song… Anyway up the hill I went to check out what the masters from MIC had in store for us. They came with tons of phat rides! Everything was laying flat, even a new GS400! Also, at their booth, there were, yep, you guessed it, 2 fine women! Very nice T & A! The dually was there of course along with about 4 other rides that had been featured previously. Someone told me that they came with like 25 rides! I don’t think so, I could have sworn there were more!
I believe that this years event was at least twice as big as I have ever seen it! They even had to postpone the awards ceremony because they had so many judging sheets to go through. As always, there were a ton of vendors and there were more women signing posters then ever. Although I left with my balding head (from old age of course) burnt, I had a blast and enjoyed meeting all of those that had time for me. I hope that there is as big of a showing at Summer Jam, and even bigger for next years Spring Cal Jam.
