With the rest of Nathan’s Toy pretty much done, it was time to concentrate under the hood. To keep up the same scheme of things, the graphics were ran through the bottom of the hood and down the firewall. Along with paint, the engine block and frame was painted along with many chromed out suspension and engine parts. To give the sled some power, Nathan decided to go with dual Solex Mikuni side-draft carb’s along with a TRD stage one cam and ported and polished head. To let the engine breath, a K & N filter was installed along with chrome Downey header. To get the air out, the stock exhaust was ditched and replaced with 2-½ custom exhaust, leaving out the catalytic converter. To quiet things up, a Flowmaster muffler was used. Custom fuel gauges and fittings where installed to help Nathan keep an eye on things. Finishing the overall look under the hood, chrome plating was added to the wiper motor, valve cover and upper a-arms. Steel braided hoses topped off the new look under the hood. Dave Svien of Escondido, CA and head mechanic at Toyota of Escondido, performed the engine work.

When it comes to interior, Nathan’s is a prime example of custom. With the knowledge of doing interior by working as a manager of a stereo shop, Nathan didn’t hold anything back while building up the Toy's interior. With a completely new custom dash built from sheet metal, it left a good structure for the inside. To complement the new dash, Nathan also built custom door panels and a sweet center console. Before it was time to put everything back together, Nathan decided to go with a custom green carpet kit and make some kick panels along with a subwoofer enclosure using plexiglas. Colorado Custom provided the steering wheel with a billet aluminum model.
