Showfest
Showfest
Ok, those of you who have been to this show need to introduction to it. Showfest in Greenville, MS has to be one of the best shows in the southeast, hands down. The biggest and baddest rides from all over attend this event every year. Showfest 2000 held the same high standards as it always has in the past.
The weekend started out pretty nasty. Rain seemed to dominate the east for the most of May. Saturday started out looking pretty bad. Rain drenched the show, but that didn't kill the enthusiasm of the participants and onlookers alike. Rides from all over rolled in, representing all the major players in the show scene: Severed Ties, Relaxed Atmosphere, Down II Earth, Negative Camber and many others.
The highlight of the show was most definitely Bill Carlton and his '99 crew cab dually. For those who know Bill, he always manages to make people look everywhere he goes. Greenville was yet another one of those places. Having a '99 Denali-front end, crew cab dually is already cool enough, but when it's body dropped on 19's, you know your high rolling.
Saturday afternoon, the rain finally subsided and everyone got the towels and cleaning gear out and shined the rides to allow the judges to look over the many contestants and see who would crowned king in the many classes that they have to offer.
When it was all said and done, Relaxed Atmosphere walked away with club participation, having over 30 logo'd rides in attendance.
This show is definitely one of the best shows in the southeast. Those who have never been to Showfest, add it to your calender. You don't be disappointed.
*If you are interested in attending this event next year, be sure you check the listings to find out the exact location. There is some talk of moving the show from Greenville to Jackson for 2001.*
