It was that time again. Time for people across the U.S. to flock upon the little brown-water ridden town of Greenville, Mississippi. At first glance, one might think "Why would everyone bother going to this little town in the middle of nowhere to goto a show?" Once they try it though, they're hooked. And as every year has been, there were a lot of "hooked" people making the trek to Greenville again this year. The great thing about Greenville is, this is probably the only show you can goto where the cops are encouraged to leave everyone alone and let them do what they want to do. The Mayor of Greenville welcomes the flocks of people to his town and doesn't allow his fine law enforcement to harass the town's visitors. This only helps to add to the Showfest experience, with everyone enjoying the worry free weekend, unlike many other shows across the U.S.I left Nashville around 6:30 am on Friday to meet up with my fellow Relaxed members in Memphis, and then head down to Greenville. After arriving in Memphis around 10:30, I drove to our chapter president's house, Jerry Lewis, and transferred my bags to his Ford F250 Super Duty, with a 10-inch lift on 40's. Gotta love monster trucks. After meeting up with the rest of our crew, we headed out of Memphis and started our voyage. Quite early into our journey, one of the boys lost an air fitting, so we pulled over, got him fixed and got back on the road. Upon arriving in Mississippi, there was an incredible weather change. It was hot. Not only was it hot, but it was very humid as well. I knew there was going to be plenty of heat to add to the hot rides we were already in store to see. At last, we rolled into Greenville and went straight to our hotel. There were already tons of nice rides lingering around the city. One of the first people that we ran into was Bill Carlton from Ekstensive in Houston. He was already out and about pimpin' his bad-ass crew cab dually. I walked across the street to find Pat Maxwell and Brandt Fuqua both cleaning up their rides from the drive. All the heavy hitters were in town and showing off their latest and greatest projects. Friday night rolled around and the Assorted Minis crew offered everyone the chance to get involved in their Friday night Parade. Jerry and I loaded up in the Ford and headed to downtown Greenville, where we met up with Bill and Pat and got ourselves in line for the parade.

The parade line was spectacular. Trucks, cars, lowered, raised, old and new were all on hand to give the folks of Greenville a nice show this year. The parade line started moving and we were on our way to cruise through the streets of Greenville. Bill Carlton, being the showman that he is, stole the show in his dually, laying on an air horn, powered by nitrogen. You have no idea how loud this was unless you were there. Every turn and every little crowd watching got a dose of Bill's horn. And everyone loved it, with the exception of Pat Maxwell, who had the unfortunate job of driving in front of Bill. Haha. After the cruise, the Mayor of Greenville was on hand to crown the Mayor's Choice award to his favorite vehicle. Again, Bill Carlton stepped up to the plate and won this award, receiving a key to the city of Greenville. After the cruise, everyone went back to the hotels to clean up and grab a bite to eat. The festivities didn't last long because rain decided to spoil the night, as it poured the rest of the evening. With rain falling like the bottom fell out of the sky, everyone's emotions were distressed thinking that this could possibly be a rainy weekend. Much to everyone's surprise, Saturday morning was very hot and very sunny. Everyone went straight to cleaning their rides and getting ready to head to the show. I loaded up in one of our guy's S10 and headed to the show. The showground was already starting to fill up. Upon first entering the site, I immediately noticed all the top contenders on hand shining and showing their prize possessions. Some of the hard-hitting clubs on hand were Pleasures, Negative Camber, Severed Ties and Relaxed Atmosphere. Not only were the top clubs showing, but several smaller, lesser known clubs and solo show goers were all displaying their best. The atmosphere was that of fun and partying. Everyone was kicked back, hanging with their crews and having a good time. Lots of rides on hand gave everyone something to look at and ideas for their own rides. As the day progressed, the staff from Assorted handled the job of judging very well. Things went smooth and in the late afternoon, everyone started flocking back to their hotels to get cleaned up for the night time, which was going to be wilder than ever.
