GMC Nationals
May 4th, 5th, and 6th 2001 was the annual return of the All Chevy/GMC Trucking Nationals located in Pigeon Forge, TN. This year was no exception on a good show. The show was put together good, attendance was up, and drive through judging went through smoothly.
The show was packed with everything from Classics, to body dropped late models. There were rides in the parking lot that caught my eye just as much or more than what was on the show grounds. These rides ranged from a chopped C10, to a 1950's red pickup.
I arrived at the show around 11am Saturday morning and traffic was lined up forever to get into the show, it took me about 5 passes through the lot even to find a parking spot. Among the entrants were rides from Relaxed Atmosphere, Negative Camber and Flawless Kreationz.
East Coast Customs was on hand with their rolling shop that included items from roll pans, tailgate skins and custom hoods, and had their 1999 Silverado there outfitted with their products.
The major thing that caught my eye was all of the chromed out engines this year. There were tons of trucks that had more chrome than the eye could pick up on one pass through.
This surely will be one show I intend on arriving early to next year, and a must for General Motors fans.
