This month I wouldlike to devote my time here to friendships. Friends are those people that make you laugh until your sides hurts. Friends are those people that come to your house and help you out when your truck has been hacked by an asshole of a shop. Friends are those people that still like you even when you do things they don't agree with. Friends are those people that you have fun just hanging out with. I've met so many new people already this year that I am proud to call friends. Part of this came from joining a new club, Subculture. Subculture is one of those clubs that promotes the whole "family" lifestyle. In other words, you find out a lot of funny stuff that you wouldn't normally find out about your friends. One of these situations that I find amusing involves the owners of Edge Custom Wear. On Sunday night, in Greenville, the few of us that were staying decided to go out to eat. Needless to say, all of us at the table found out that Eric and Judon Davis call each other Sugie Woogie Bear. We found this hilarious. I hope that if you see their booth at a show, you will remind them that the whole customizing world will soon know them as such by yelling loudly..........HEY SUGIE WOOGIE BEAR. Informally, we decided that Eric would be Sugie and Judon would be Woogie......He even tried to make us forget all of this by serenading us with a Creed song. That was even funnier. It's no big secret that we took our Nissan to what was supposed to be a reputable shop and got jacked. Our Nissan was basically a P. O. S. until this past weekend. A couple of friends that own a shop called Endless Creations brought the shop to us, meaning they made a house call, and helped us get the truck going again. They brought the welder and plasma cutter and sawzall and lots of other fix it stuff and set up shop in our garage. The suspension had serious issues. Instead of just telling us what we needed to do to fix it and dogging on it, they loaded up everything they could to come fix it. That's a friend.

Friends that still like you even when you do something they don't agree with are cool, too. Greenville was going to be a hard show for us, we thought. Our new club, Subculture was staying at the same hotel as our old club, Severed Ties. We thought this might create drama. Boy, were we wrong. (Thank goodness!) The Severed Ties guys were very cool with us and pretty much acted like nothing had happened. I thought this was great because it reiterated to me that friendship is more important to people than what club you are in. I have seen people not even speak because we changed clubs. Hopefully, those people will learn from others. There is nothing that builds friendships like hanging out. I guess that's why people who enjoy doing the same things end up being friends. Personally, I want to hang out with people who like trucks, don't bag on other people, go to shows, and hang out on the weekends. The whole friendship thing has been bothering me for a little while because I have several friends in different areas of my life that, for some reason or other, are changing. I don't know if it's an age thing or if it's just me. Maybe I'll figure it out. I do know this though, I'm going to call the old friends that I've lost touch with and say, "Hey!" and I'm going to call the new friends I've made recently and say, "Hey!" too. Maybe you should too.......BrandiComments to MinitruckerChic@StreetSourceMag.com
