This was my first time to make it out to Lonestar Roundup and this has got to be one of the best shows I have ever been to. Not to mention it is in the middle of Austin Texas and if you ever want to get away and just relax Austin has to be the place to be. Nothing can be better than an endless supply of Hula Hut, Chuys, Hula Hut and Chuys, did I mention Hula Hut. Well enough about my new hobby I have taken up in eating, let’s talk about the show.Roundup is a nice mixture of every different type of hot rod you can imagine, from led sleds, to full customs to what everyone has labeled rat rods. Walking around the show there was an abundance of satin black paint, radical pin stripping, and enough grease to make Exxon jealous. Now did I mention the grease was 10W 40 and could be found either under the cars or slicked back through almost everyone hair. And let’s talk about some of these cars, they are all so unique. Some of them looked like your local mini trucker went out to the local farm and picked up a piece of rust, added some new tires and dropped some oil down into then engine and off they went. These guys really know how to enjoy a car and have fun with it. Some of them had parts from every different kind of make and model you could imagine. Everyone can appreciate and enjoy this show; they had right at 500 vehicles and an endless supply of vendors to help brake the bank. I think I was more excited about all the vendors and different pieces I picked up than seeing the show, but hey I can always use a little more clutter for what my wife as labeled the junk room. Well if you ever take up a hobby in collecting junk, Roundup is a good place to take what few dollars you have to you name and get started.If by now I haven’t sold you on going to Roundup next year, hey I am sorry I am a horrible writer and miss my wife doing this for me. Well what can I say; she has a 16 month old bundle of joy that we like to call our life.
