Carlisle Nationals
Carlisle Nationals
Well, we rolled into Carlisle around 7 in the morning on Friday in hopes of getting a good spot for camping. After registering out vehicles and paying for the everything we entered the fairgrounds. Well, I was surprised to see that people were already on the showfield with their vehicles as if the show had already started. We headed into the campgrounds and saw even more vehicles. I could not believe how many people were already here. We setup camp and started wandering around to meet people. We were invited to hang out with several different clubs and everyone was very friendly. Well, night time arrived and we started partying. Carlisle is a great place for "night time activities." Knowing that the judging part of the show was early Saturday morning I decided to call it an "early night" and go to bed at 3 in the morning.
Saturday morning I was awake and on the showfield by 6 o'clock. With Carlisle being one of the biggest shows on the East coast I knew the showfield would fill up fast. I chose my spot and cleaned my truck. After cleaning I decided to walk around the flea market and vendors row to see what was offered. With vendors like LowGlow, Drop Em Wear and many others it was easy to spend money. After Vendors row I decided to start taking pictures. There were a lot of nice trucks there and I knew I had my a lot of work to do. A lot of clubs were present at the show. Negative Camber, Severed Ties, Positive Image, Low Rollers and Exclusive Stylez were all well represented. After judging, a lot of minitruckers decided to enjoy the events such as the High/Low contest, Hydraulic Hop, an "Unofficial Burnout contest" and of course the Bikini Contest. After all these events it was time to get ready for the big Saturday night party.
Saturday night turned out to be nothing but fun. With everybody cruising around in sweet rides and all the girls "showing what they got.' There was no way I was going to bed early tonight. Morning arrived a lot quicker than expected and it was time to see who trophied. Carlisle posts the names of the winners and then does a drive through trophy presentation later during the day. With a couple thousand vehicles it must have been hard for the judges but the winners were announced and the trophy presentation took place. With the trophies handed out all that was left was the drive home. Im sure I will see everyone of you next year.
