The show started Friday morning at 8:00am, with a change of show grounds this year to an all paved lot. The show was held at the Governor's Palace Theatre instead of the River's Landing Hotel. There weren't many people there on friday maybe 30 total, but I knew that Saturday would be a different story. By noon Saturday, there were over 170 entries, which ranged from full size trucks to euros. The show promoter offered a free SPL shootout for anyone that wanted to enter. The drive through judgine lanes were packed all day long, but as the day went on, many left to go back to their hotels to get ready for the night of cruising. The judges came around about 4:30 to judge the displays and Best Of trophies. The neon contest was held at the host hotel at 8:00pm on Saturday night. By 9pm, everyone was out, either cruising their rides or lining the sidewalks to just take in the view. Sunday brought the bikini contest, which had a very special entrant this year, a 1 year old yound lady named Alexis, she received a special award for her entry. There was a hydraulic demonstration following the contest, and then it was time for the awards. The awars were given out in a very timely manner, with only a few arguments. The show promoter then drew for the giveaway car, a 1990 Geo Storm, the car went to a guy they call "Red Dog", who put the car up for sell. The promoter then decided that nest year, cash would be given out instead of a car. This was an all around good show, if you didn't make it this year, I hope to see you there next year.
