Ahh... the Midwest in springtime. It's so lovely. Trees sprouting new buds, animals scurrying about, and the low rumble of high performance exhaust systems clearing out three months worth of dust and cobwebs. Time to break out the Meguiars and polishing cloth cause this summer's show season is about to begin. I decided to get an early start and make the 8-hour road trip from Chicago to Clarksville, TN for the Gentleman's Premier 1st annual Kappa Sigma Car show at Austin Peay University. The show was originally scheduled for March 2nd, but due to the weather and a lot of interest in the show, it was re-scheduled for March 24th. For being a 1st annual show, it ended up having a fairly decent turnout. 117 cars turned out on a beautiful Cloudless Sunday morning. The cars ranged from antique restored cars to frame scrapin' mini trucks and everything in between. Xtreme Concepts and Memory Lane were two of the larger clubs that turned out for the event. Awards were given to the Top 50 cars, as well as Best Paint, Best of Show, Biggest Club Attendance, Editors Choice, Best Truck, Best Sport Compact, Best Euro, and a few more. A live DJ provided audio entertainment all day long, and burgers, dogs, and soda were were provided courtesy of Kappa Sigma. It was overall a really good day. 70 degrees, no clouds. What else could you ask for?Jason Gedmin
