Jimmy started out with a bare bones stock B2200 with as few bells and whistles as he could find, knowing most of it would either end up replaced or in the garbage anyway. Shortly after buying the truck from a local dealership Jimmy found a donor 4x4 bed from another Mazda standard cab truck. Now if you have ever owned or built a Mazda you know that 4x4 beds are about as hard to find as it is looking for a needle in a haystack, so after procuring one locally Jimmy was off on his build adventure.

To match the rear 4x4 sheet metal new 4x4 fenders were added up front to make the bed feel at home on its new chassis. With the new bed in place a Snug Top window-less shell was added to keep the elements out of the bed and ensure that the audio system would have a clean and dry home. Once the new bed, shell and fenders were in place Jimmy dropped the truck off with BodyWerks in Bossier City, LA so they could perform the much needed face-lift.
The body was stripped of any unwanted items and fresh metal and filler was applied to the door handles, antenna hole, side vents, lock holes, wiper cowl, emblems, and tailgate handle. With these items gone and the void filled the crew then applied their talents to molding in a new roll pan and making the tailgate swing to one side.
