This weekend the coast rocked when the Drop Jaw Mag Highway Invasion Tour – think Winter Cruise, but in the summer, and with trophies – kicked off in Charleston, SC. The show didn’t disappoint with something for everyone – from killer paint jobs to slamming systems. The show itself was held at the Ladson Exchange Park Fairgrounds in Ladson, SC. It was the perfect set up for a show. Surrounding the lake in the center was a circle of road perfect for cruisin’ and draggin’. The dedicated show goers braved the unseasonably cold temperatures and overcast skies on Saturday.Saturday night boasted the night time activities that Big Mike and the Drop Jaw crew have become famous for. The night kicked off with several musical performances and went on to feature two topless pole dancers on the stage. The wet t-shirt contest began as that, but it wasn’t long before t-shirts were out of the equation. There were plenty of naked chics and girl on girl action. Things got so wild, in fact, that the Ladson Police Department shut down the night time events completely. Never lacking for a backup plan, the Drop Jaw crew had planned a kickin’ after party at The Plex. On Sunday, the sun and sweltering southern temperatures were back. This provided the perfect setting for the hydraulic and burnout competitions. There are always a few show participants who are more than willing to break stuff for sheer entertainment value – God love ‘em! The show culminated with another musical performance on the main stage, and the awards ceremony at 3:30.
