Where did it go?
Yet another month is over. Where did it go?? Thanks to the magazine I have had first hand experience with Pigeon Forge and Texas Heat Wave. I’ve been exposed to two hot ass places and came back from both with my head burnt to a crisp. (Please leave all potato jokes alone…hehe.) Through out my ventures to the East and Midwest, I have met tons of people. Some new to the scene and some that have been around the scene longer than I have been alive. I’ve talked with a lot of you online or over the phone but this past month gave me a chance to actually meet you in person. And I’ve got to say, most of you are not as much of an ass as I thought…haha just kidding. My experience meeting everyone has been a blast. I would start naming people but I would probably leave someone out and I wouldn’t want to do that. So for those of you that sat there with me drinking or laughing at people, you know who you are! It’s been real and can’t wait to do it again!
I’ve discovered that if I play my cards just right, I won’t have to pay for my beer. Instead just carry around an empty beer can and you know what happens from there. The fellow minitrucker won’t let you walk around without a beverage that just wouldn’t be right! Hehe! The features that have been taken back East, I finally got to meet all of them as well. The vehicles look just as good in person as they do captured with our staff’s cameras.
In this issue we’ll have tons of pics for your viewing pleasure, as usual. The SSM crew was running around full tilt at Pigeon Forge covering both events and managing to capture some bad ass features to keep everyone happy. We finally got our hands on tons of stickers and shirts that I’m starting to see out and about which just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
We also have coverage of The Texas Heat Wave. Now I am aware of why the show was named Texas Heat Wave. And properly named it is! It was a pretty kick ass show and the storm on Sunday was like, whoa! Mother Nature truly challenged my ability to feature a truck during a storm! It was crazy! On the flight home I looked through all of my disks, and unfortunately between the heat and Sunday’s episode I lost one feature disk and 3 show disks to the weather. But we still have tons of stuff for everyone to look at. I managed only 3 features from THW but you will all have to wait till next month’s issue to see them. But believe me the wait will be well worth it!
With this issue we begin a series of columns by a girl most of you are familiar with, Brandi Gulow. Bringing the girls side of the show scene, “Girl Gab” will be something for everyone to enjoy. Along with an article by Maggie, known by the chatters as “Hustler”. It’s good to see enthusiasm from the women in our sport. There are also a few other editorials for all to read and enjoy.
With that I will say this: In the life of this very sport which many live there lives around, I am currently fulfilling a dream of traveling everywhere and getting to know as many people as possible. To me it doesn’t matter what club you are in, it doesn’t matter what sex or nationality you are, the only thing that matters to me is that we all share a common goal. Our goal is to build our rides for the sole purpose of bringing the family closer together. Stop the hate. Not everyone has the money or the hook ups to build their rides show or magazine worthy. But hey, everyone has to start somewhere. Show the love! Till next month, peace out!
