Live Wire
Well after years of hearing about how great Texas Heat Wave is I had the chance to find out for myself if it was true. It was everything I was told it was and more. The quality of the vehicles that were there was beyond expectation. The show truly was a success and a lot of hard work went into producing a show of that size and caliber. As for my fellow club members and myself we will be back next year.
I've been in and around the car audio competition and show circuit for over 13 years I'm starting to see a trend develop that truly is alarming and actually scary. This year at Heat Wave I saw cops harassing people for no reason. But I also saw people acting like idiots and putting other peoples life in danger for the sake of a good laugh.
When I first got into car audio competition I saw it then people destroying hotel rooms, throwing there trash all in the hotel parking lot and getting so drunk they couldn't walk. But come next year they couldn't understand why the hotel didn't want them back again. This year's Heat Wave was no exception, I'm sorry I love partying and having a good time but destroying a hotel and having the cops harass everyone due to their bad behavior is not expectable.
I know this doesn't apply to everyone but due to their behavior everyone paid the price. It doesn't matter if it's a USAC, IASCA, DB Drag, Whittlee, Texas Heat Wave or whatever show have some respect for the people around you. If it's 3am and you were trying to sleep with a big meeting planned tomorrow would you get upset if someone was keeping you up all night with loud music and doing burn outs?
Since I got that off my chest I must say that Heat Wave host one awesome car audio event. If you wanted it, it was there. From Team Gates to factory demo vehicles everything you ever dreamed of was in attendance. Show vehicles that you've heard about and dreamed of seeing were there. The judge's and event staff worked hard to keep the show going as smooth as possible. I was impressed to see the manufactures that were on hand, this show reminded me of some that only a few years ago you would have seen at a finals event.
Well until next month, be good for once in your life. Please. 'If it's to loud your to old'
