Okay, I know that I've been lazy and not written in a month. I didn't think you guys would miss me but someone set me straight on that a couple of weeks ago. It's been a very busy couple of months for us. We've been to a lot of shows, looked at a lot of houses, and actually bought one of them. It seemed to be the house from hell because we had so much freakin' trouble with everything that had to do with moving into this house. Anyway, I'm back giving the female view on the lifestyle that we all love so much.
We've been to so many more shows this year than we usually go to that I can hardly remember when we went where. It has been a totally awesome show season. It has been one of the most memorable years that I've spent. I'm so glad it's not over yet.... There's still Lake Charles, Truckin' Nationals, the ever famous SEMA show, not to mention any number of small shows. Over the course of this year, I've managed to overcome the whole "flying on a air plane" thing. I can't really even remember how many times we did that this summer. I've been able to spend so much time with close friends that live miles and miles away that now I miss them more than ever during the times we don't get to hang out. It really sucks to get to have a blast all weekend and then have to say goodbye on Sunday or Monday.
In between going to shows, I've been searching for a house for us to live in. Since Russell works a full time job during the week, most of this crap is left up to me. I now know more about credit reports and interest rates than I ever knew when I worked in a bank. I also know that some people are actually crazy enough to buy crappy houses that are falling in for huge prices. I'm still a little in awe that real estate agents, even after knowing what I was looking for, took me to look at some of the houses they did. It must be the minitrucking style dress that plagues us as people who can't afford to buy a house or get a loan. It really pisses me off to know that the new neighbors who live around us probably think that we sell drugs or something. I've seen them looking at Russell's dually and some of the people that have come to visit us. I guess minitruckers are not supposed to be able to live in nice neighborhoods. The jokes on them. Maybe we can liven up the place a little. I ended up getting to really make some people mad during this whole process. The real estate agent we were working with was extremely ticked when I called and told her we were buying a For Sale by Owner house.
The people at the bank were pretty ill when I told them that I had done all I could do and I didn't really give a crap if they gave me a loan or not. The seller got real pissed when I made him sign an addenda contract to fix some of the crap that was wrong in the house. I'm sure he would like to change his phone number by now. Too bad he runs his business from his house and cell. he he. Too bad that he's a builder and uh, stands to lose business if he doesn't let me bully him into fixing stuff. Gosh, I think I'm starting to sound kind of harsh. All in all, it's a great house, with lots of cool things that you don't normally find in a home, so we're pretty happy now that all the bull is over.
I was at a show a few weeks ago and someone asked me why I didn't write a column last month. I don't think they realized how long it would take me to answer that question. They summed it up pretty well when I got finished. "Oh, you were too lazy to do it." Well, yeah, actually, I guess I was. I could've taken the time out at say, 3 in the morning, to write. I'm sorry that sleep seemed a necessity. I should've, could've, would've. But I didn't. I hate that. It's kind of like door handles, He could've shaved them since he was getting new paint. He would've shaved them if he had more time. The simple fact is, He should've shaved the damn door handles.
Until next month, remember that sometimes pissing people off is fun. You make time for the things that have to be done (well, unless you are me). Stay away from people named SpeedBump, Romeo, and Dancing Queen. Oh yeah and I finally figured out why they call Chas Spaz.............
