After dinner we went back to the hotel where the party had already began. Cruising, dragging, drinking and just all out partying had already began long before we arrived. The pool and parking lot was full and everyone was having a good time. The party went late into the night, even thought the Richmond police tried to slow things down. Phil Fowler logo'd a police cruiser with a Minitruckin' sticker, as a polite gesture of being so understanding. Haha. After things started to calm down, we dispursed back to our rooms in an attempt to get some much needed rest. Ahhhh, what a day!
Sunday was bright and sunny, but very hot. Everyone had found their way back to the grounds, gotten their rides back in tip-top shape and eagerly anticipated another round of fun, before the drive back home that evening. I caught up with friends Wes and Mike from Negative Camber-North Carolina and we walked around, snapping photos and talking to our friends.
Sunday afternoon, Ashton decided to give the crowd a show and announced the bikini contest was about to start. Everyone flocked to the stage and watched as several young ladies gave it their all (with the help of water and other items) to win the first place cash prize. The massive crowd enjoyed the show and one lucky lady walked away with a few extra dollars. Not bad for 30 minutes worth of work.
Since they already had the crowd gathered around the stage, Ashton and his crew started the awards ceremony and handed out the massive amount of trophies, including the custom made billet Best Of Show car and truck trophies. After everything was said and done, everyone packed up their rides, said their goodbyes and headed on the way back from where they came.
I said goodbye to all my friends that I had the chance to see again and Ashton dropped me off at the airport for my flight back home.
Ashton and his Subculture crew throw one helluva show and one helluva good time. East Coast Nationals is a must for anyone that wants to attend one of the great major shows on the right side of the country. Make plans to attend next year and I'll see you there!
