Okay, okay... I know I haven't written in a while but I've been kinda busy. I guess I should let you guys know that we've been to a whole lot of shows this year and still have a whole lot more to go to. I guess I should let you know that we have our house up for sale so we might be moving to a town near you.... hehe. I guess I should let you know that I've fallen in love with something I never thought I would. I went to Amarillo, TX last month for a show called Draggin' The Plains (a great show I might add) and met several new people. Well, one night we were sitting at a Chili's that is totally non-smoking (read not minitrucker friendly). I went outside to smoke and laid my eyes on the most beautiful motorcycle I have ever seen. Now I'll tell you, my first thought was, "That's gorgeous, but I don't ride." Then the guy that owned it came out and I started talking to him. He told me all about it. How the gas tank is under the seat instead of where it normally is and the air cooler is where the gas tank normally is. He told me lots of other stuff too that I won't bore you with. And then we started talking about trucks and other stuff too. After a little while, he looked at me and said, "I can tell that you really appreciate motorcycles even though you don't ride. Why don't you?" So, I explained to him that my uncle's bike had fallen on me when I was seven and my dad's bike had burned my legs it seemed like a thousand times while I was growing up and I was kinda scared of them still.... After I got all that out, I felt a lot better already but then he went on to explain some of life's great mysteries (which I will keep to myself) and convinced me that I really would be okay if I got back on a motorcycle.

When I finally tore myself away from the 2003 Harley Davidson V-Rod and went back into Chili's, I announced to my friends that I would be purchasing a new V-Rod. Russell looked at me like "Are you still my wife or has some alien overtaken your body?" Most everyone at the table was like.....But you are a minitrucker....Except for one person......Carrie Tripp. She was like, "Cool, I think we have one down at the store if you want to come by and look it over." Coincidentally, I found out that one of my new friends helps her dad run Tripp's Harley Davidson. Yeah, weird, huh? So, needless to say, we ventured to Tripp's Harley shop in Amarillo, which is unbelievable in itself, with pristine white floors in the shop area and more freakin Harley gear than you could wear in a year. The shop itself makes you want to own a Harley. Russell promptly fell in love with the bike too.......I'm still not believing that there is a Harley that looks like it was designed by a minitrucker. We decided that we will be purchasing two of these lovely beasts. We are really thankful that even though we couldn't take one home right then, Carrie hooked us up with some cool ass Harley gear. If you are cruising down the highway and see two Harleys fly by that look like they are all billet (really anodized aluminum), you'll know you probably just met Brandi and Russell......... Oh yeah, one more thing, if you are ever going down I-40 in Amarillo, stop in Tripp's and ask for Carrie to give you the grand tour, and tell her I said, "Hey!"BrandiComment, Gripes, Suggestions to: MinitruckerChic@StreetSourceMag.com
