Derek, being a body man in training at his fathers custom shop (F & S Customs), took less than 6 months to modify this Sunfire into a car that would catch the eye of any sport compact enthusiast. He used the help of his father to guide him in the ways of bodywork and customization. Together they built a ride they both could be proud of. The vehicle began as a horrible wreck. With the front and rear of the car destroyed he knew he had his work cut out for him. Fortunately, with the help of his father and brother, the trio was destined to get it accomplished.

After looking at the car, Derek's brother helped him find the parts he wanted to install. He started by replacing the destroyed parts like fenders etc. He replaced the hood with a fiberglass ram air hood from Class Glass, and then came the Street Fire bumpers and J-Body side skirts from RK Sport. While it was going together they repaired the dents and dings, shaved the handles and keyholes to prepare it for paint.
