I'll just finally got back my motor from the second machine shop (sometimes machine shops do shit work appearently). So here is the final setup- 1968 350 rocket pucnhed .68 over with Mondello forged pistons (10.5:1 compression), ARP connecting rod, main cap, and head bolts,Comp Cams Magnum double roller timing chain, cam, lifters, timing chain gears, stock replacement folcrum straps and rockers, headman headers,Flowmaster mufflers, Edelbrock performer rpm intake, Denom jr. 650 carb, Flow kooler water pump, melling oil pump and pick up, milodon 7 quart oil pan, chrome valve covers, chrome alternator (110 amp), chrome and aluminum pulleys from transdapt, chrome thermostat housing, chrome trans pan, chrome dipstick tube for trans and motor, and all this assembled using stainless nuts, bolts and washers. My trans is a TCI Streetfighter TH-350 with an 1800 stall saturday night special from TCI. This all linked through 3:73 gears with posi (limited slip actually). Once the body goes back on the frame and the engine is in i'm going to order cool flex hoses and some kind of good aluminum radiator with electris fans. All other lines will be polished stainless custom bent. Oh yeah two optima yellow tops.
shave everything i can without looking stupid, stretch rear wheel wells 1 3/4 inches forward to clear 22's, 3/16 rockers (inners and outers), exhaust cutouts in front of wheel well between door and rear wheel well opening. Stock cutlass power moonroof. I am thinking about making a set of bolt on caps for the rear to shave the tailights at shows.
In the garbage starting over with steel dash and neon expresso seats wrapped in black leather with grey suede inserts. no clue as to what i'm gonna do with the rest though.
Airride consisting of one 12 gallon tank,8 smc 3/8 valves,3/8 lines, three viar 450 compressors, firestone 2500(front),F-9000 (back), and adjustable pressire switch. I am back halfing my frame, I am about done with the frame. i'm narrowing the width of the frame by 2 1/2 inches on each side to fit 22x8.5 (i know i said 20 before but i got an itch for bigger and now i got 22's just waiting to go on) in the rear. triangulated four link with bags behind the axle and shocks. Custom brackets, notched control arms, super wide spring pockets, notched frame for tie rod clearance, and 20x8.5 inch wheels on the front. Once i get the money i'm sending the axle out to get shortened 1 3/4 on each side 22's hit where quarter panel starts to curve back in at the top), other than that any remaining factory equipment was replaced with AC Delco replacements from the dealer. All braklines (except hoses) are all stainless. I used a brake hose off of a 4x4 S-10 to lengthen it about 3 1/2 inches to avoid stretching it out. Oh yeah it doesnt really count as suspension but its got a 15 gallon fuel cell too.
Player 853's-20x8.5 in the front and 22x8.5 in rear.
I'll worry about that later. Anyone want to sponsor me? Come on you know you want too.
Getting it looking like a car again will awarding enough.
Most of the shit on that list is my future plans. Some of it is done and the rest is coming very soon. The whole car is disassembled and under heavy contruction as of now. Finish date is supposed to be beginning of 2005 show season. But the second build on my motor cost $4011.71, so that slowed my cash flow and the project down a bit. I have a new body for it that has a roof and is very clean.
