As I get off the plane in Orange County California, my buddy Alex Anderson is there to greet me and assure me that I was in for one hell of a weekend that I would never forget. After getting my bags we headed over to Alex's work which is none other than the world famous Monster Garage. While at the garage I had the chance to look over the cars as seen on TV and check out a few of the cars that haven't been aired yet. With the grand tour behind me it was time to head over to Irwin Dale racetrack where the discovery channel was doing a monster challenge on the newest built vehicle. Soon after the screening I had the chance to hang with the cast and crew before heading to Alex's house and getting my first taste of In and Out burger. Before we could head over to the show grounds for the weekend we ran a few errands and hooked up with Ricky from ST. With everything packed up it was time to head to Reso but not without a few stops along the way to hook up with other ST members. While driving through the desert and comparing notes about restaurants I found out that California does not have CiCi's pizza or Chic-fil-a, and Texas does not have a In and Out Burger or Del taco. Not that any of this actually matter I just found it to be an interesting comparison. Well here we are, Reso 2002, man I can't believe I am here. This is a show I have wanted to be at for the past 2 years and I am actually reaching a goal for myself that I set last January. Once inside the gates we found our camp area and helped Alex set up camp while I waited on the Vegas girls to arrive in the RV. With this being Severed Ties 10th anniversary I had the chance to meet a lot of their members from coast to coast and enjoy their celebration with them that went way into the nights. After walking around meeting and greeting everyone I could it was time for me to turn in, since I was still on Texas time and it was around 3 in the morn California time. Waking up to a great breakfast cooked by Alex's wife Jodi, started the day off right. With beer in my hands camera around my neck it was time for me to check out the show. The show had some of the nicest rides you could think of ranging from The Kid's Toyota to Tom's Full-size they brought all the way from Texas. Something I did notice about this west coast show is the abundance of primer mini's and old school Cadillac's. With the picture taking behind me so quickly that only means one thing, more beer drinking time. Saturday night ST pulled everything out, along with 3 bands and plenty of beer and lets not forget about lucky getting lucky with Body drop.

While the ST party was going on I don't think there was a party anywhere else in the entire campground, even the shows DJ waited for the St party to stop before they got there activities going. Once the shows DJ got things going everyone crowded the stage to watch the run whores do there thing on stage while I got to hang out with Wes, Brian, Tink and Lacy (all SSM chat junkies). While watching all they drunks look stupid I realized I was still sober so I headed back to the RV to grab a few drinks and try and stay up later than the night before. At the RV I got the chance to warm up for the first time all weekend and hang out with newfound friends. With time approaching 3 am it was time for me to crash, before getting woke up by Adam and Alex plotting to terrorize the campground while others where sleeping. Sunday came quick and it was time to pack up and head home. Alex and his wife hit the road and left Ricky and I behind, but we took the scenic way home and made a few memorable stops on the way. Amongst those stops I found out that Rancho Cucamonga is a real city and not just a city from "Next Friday". We also made a stop by Travis Barkers house from Blink 182 where I left a friendly NC logo on his gate buzzer box. Arriving at Rickey's house around 3 we cleaned up and I prepared for my first taste of the California Club Scene. We headed out for Alex's house to try and drag him out with us but all he wanted to do is lay around like an old tired man and rest up from the crazy weekend. Leaving Alex's house we picked up a couple of Ricky's fine ass girl/friends (not girlfriends). Arriving at the club we received the VIP treatment thanks to Ricky knowing damn near everyone in that club. While at the club I had a blast meeting all the California women I could and drinking all the beer I could but the fun had to come to an end, so it was time to drop the girls back off at their place and head home. Finally it was Monday morning and time for me to head back to Dallas, my weekend of fun in the sun was over and the memories were tattooed in my head. I would like to thank everyone that was there to help have a great time in California. Including: Alex, Jodi, Crash, Ricky, Amanda, Nix, Wes, ST and lastly, the blonde chic that grabbed my sac at the club. Hopefully I can start my new year as good as I ended my last.
