As we all know, Sept 11, 2001 is a date of tragedy in US history. Although our hearts here at Street Source LLC go out to all those affected, I'll try my best not to reflect on the tragedy but instead write about what you all expect…. The custom scene!
As the year 2001 continues to pass faster then I can imagine the automotive scene seems to be keeping up at a faster then fast rate. With show after show of new ideas and more badass rides then ever before gracing the scene, only 2002 can leave us guessing what could be next. We have people making rides so high you have to climb the tires to enter the vehicle and others cutting bodies making 4 door rides into 2 door. I'm still waiting to see someone bring a body laying old school horse and buggy to a show. Can you imagine??? Tucking what, 35's or some shit being towed by one of those short horses? Hmmmm……
I remember the days when someone would show up at a show or run sporting their new 4x4 front clip fender trim and 17's adjusting the suspension with air shocks, we thought they were the gods of the industry! Now days you see rides of such class as a common ride. Like another stock ride in a big city, something that doesn't really catch your eye. Today it's about the bling bling half engulfed by the wheel wells while dragging body down the main strips, or the 19's popping up on the import rides housing faster then fast engine swapped power plants. As an editor of a magazine it helps make my job an easier one as I have many more options available on what to photography.
With this issue we have good mixture of different customizing ideas at hand in today's world. With 3 cars which have totally different attitudes accompanied by 2 totally different trucks to one bad ass SUV, this issue promises to please.
With October being a month the show scene winds down in most of the US, this year we've managed to scrounge up more features and show coverage then last year to keep us going through the slow winter months. With SEMA on the way, I get excited to see what has been in hiding for the past 6 months awaiting to drop jaws. Till next month, help a fellow enthusiast see the light of our world……
