End of Summer Bash '01
With this being one of the shows I look forward to every year I made sure I was at the hotel early. I waited for the arrival of my fellow Exclusive Styles club members so we could figure out what the night time activities would entail. After their arrival we headed to Wal-Mart to get what we needed for that weekends events. Well actually we grabbed several water guns and headed back to the hotel. Before we knew it we were running all over the hotel battling members of Childhood Fantasies in a huge water battle that involved water guns, ice buckets and even trash cans. After everything settled down we moved to the parking lot to talk and drink. This was the first year that LowRollers made the End of Summer Bash a two-day event and many of us were looking forward to the fact that it was going to be a 2-day event.
With our arrival early in the morning to a packed field, it was nice to see the huge field LowRollers had filling up fast with minitrucks and imports. LowRollers knows how to run a show and registration was moving extremely fast. I grabbed my camera and headed out. I spent all of Saturday taking pictures of just trucks. I never thought I was going to finish taking pictures. With most of the trucks covered it was time for some of the events that LowRollers hold. The High/Low contest always draws a crowd and this one was no different. The best part about it was it also turned into an unofficial burnout contest. The high/low contest was dominated primarily by Creative Styles who were dragging up a storm but it also had several other clubs making a strong appearance such as LoRango from New Jerseys Finest. After the burnout contest I headed back over to the truck side of the show field to finish taking pictures. With the day coming to an end we headed back to the hotel.
Some of us went to Hooters to grab a bite to eat and hang out with all the other clubs that were going there. Upon Arrival we were excited to see that it was karaoke night. We ate our food and headed out to the deck to see the place packed with minitruckers singing really bad versions of Limp Bizkit, Weezer, Korn and other bands. They finally closed the karaoke down and we headed back to the hotel. When we got to the hotel we were surprised to see that the parking lot was packed with all sorts of clubs drinking, talking and having a good time. Pat Waltz from Exclusive Styles decided to drag his truck through the parking lot to show off. Before you know it there were a handful of trucks throwing sparks and doing burnouts to the delight of everyone around. The partying didn't end until the early hours with people actually falling asleep outside.
The next morning arrived pretty early and it was back to the show field. Once I reached the show field it was time to cover the import side of the show. I spent a few hours taking pictures when it was time to head to the hydraulic contest. Alex from Hi-Low in Maryland dominated the hydraulic contest. After the demonstration they put on it was then time for the bikini contest. I took my seat in the front row and get ready for the event. LowRollers keeps the daytime bikini contest pretty clean but the Wet-T contest on Saturday night got out of hand like every wet t-shirt contest should. After the bikini contest it was time for trophies and then the ride home. I thanked Phil and all the guys from LR, said goodbye to all my club members as well as all my other friends that were at the show and I took the 45-minute trip home. LowRollers does a great job putting on this show and they are one of the most entertaining clubs to hang out with. This is one of the shows that I never miss and will do anything to attend. I want to that Phil and all the members of LR for putting a great show together for us. I look forward to next years show.
